Art the Clown: A Mysterious and Inhuman Killer
In Terrifier 2, Art the Clown emerges once again as a remorseless murderer. Although his backstory remains scarce, it becomes evident that he is not entirely human. In the previous film, Terrifier, Art seemingly ended his own life when cornered by the police. However, he was mysteriously resurrected by an evil force while lying in the morgue. This raises questions about Art’s true nature. Was he once a human being? Or has he always been a demonic entity? Regardless, his complete lack of humanity is clear as he unrelentingly slaughters his victims in the most gruesome ways imaginable.
Sienna and Jonathan: Targets of a Malevolent Force
Sienna and Jonathan, two grieving teenagers who recently lost their father, find themselves at the center of Art’s sinister attention. Sienna, in particular, exhibits signs of possible supernatural abilities, as she experiences a nightmare that triggers a fire in her bedroom. It is unveiled that her father, plagued by visions of the demonic clown, sketched portraits of Art and Sienna as a warrior with angel wings. Before his untimely demise, he presented Sienna with a special sword possessing mystical powers. Sienna’s dream also reveals her using the sword to deflect Art’s attacks, igniting a fire in reality. While the true reason behind Art’s fixation on these siblings remains uncertain, it is possible that he recognized the threat Sienna posed to him due to her possession of the sword. It becomes apparent that Sienna’s father knew of Art’s existence and the danger he posed to his children, hence his drawings and the gift of the sword in preparation for the imminent battles.
The Climactic Showdown: Sienna’s Triumph over Art
The final confrontation between Sienna and Art takes place within a horror-themed amusement park. Both Sienna and Jonathan suffer severe injuries at the hands of the sadistic clown. Sienna, at one point, appears to be on the brink of death. However, she manages to regain control of her sword and stabs Art before falling through a hole into a water tank, mirroring her previous dream. Despite being restrained underwater, Sienna breaks free and returns to the amusement park, where Art is attempting to harm her brother. Empowered by the sword, which miraculously heals her wounds, Sienna charges towards Art and beheads him, ultimately defeating the menacing clown.
Art’s Uncertain Fate: A Promising Lead for Future Installments
While it may seem that Art has met his demise, a surprise awaits viewers in the mid-credits scene. Victoria Heyes, a survivor of Art’s earlier attacks, appears in a mental hospital and experiences a bizarre transformation. Her stomach begins to grow, eventually giving birth to Art’s head while her eyes emit a yellow glow. This twist reveals that Victoria has become possessed by the same demonic force that controls Art and the mysterious clown girl witnessed throughout the movie. Through this possession, Victoria possesses the ability to resurrect Art. It is plausible that Art’s body regenerates, setting the stage for a potential Terrifier 3. This continuation could shed light on Art’s connection to Sienna and her father, while also exploring the unsettling possibility of the clown terrorizing the siblings once again. Sienna may need to confront Victoria and sever the link between her and Art to prevent his return after decapitation.
