The Intrusion

In the heart-pounding movie “Don’t Breathe,” we are introduced to Rocky, Alex, and Money, a trio of daring thieves. Their target? The house of blind Gulf War veteran, Norman Nordstrom. What seemed like a straightforward heist quickly transforms into a treacherous labyrinth of death. As the trio desperately tries to escape, they discover that the seemingly vulnerable blind man possesses an unexpected strength and skill that make him a formidable adversary.

The Motive for Robbery

But why did the thieves choose Norman’s house as their target? It turns out that Rocky, Alex, and Money received reliable information that Norman has a staggering $300,000 hidden in his home. This sizable fortune was reportedly obtained as a settlement following the tragic death of Norman’s daughter in a car accident. Situated in an abandoned slum-like neighborhood, Norman’s house stands as the only occupied residence, making it an attractive prospect for the thieves. To ensure success, the trio thoroughly researched Norman before embarking on their plan.

Conflicting Motivations

Each member of the group has their own personal reasons for engaging in this daring robbery. Rocky, driven by her desire for a better future, dreams of escaping the abusive environment at home and moving to California with her sister, Diddy. The dire circumstances in her family fuel her determination to carry out the heist. On the other hand, Alex, plagued by ethical concerns, initially hesitates to participate in robbing a blind man. However, Rocky’s persuasive arguments, coupled with Alex’s romantic feelings for her, ultimately sway him to join the dangerous endeavor, despite her involvement with Money.

The Tumultuous Break-In

The action commences as the group manages to drug Norman’s loyal Rottweiler and gain entry into his house. Believing that the basement holds the coveted fortune, they encounter a locked door, leaving them convinced that the money must be hidden within. In a fit of overexcitement, Money shoots the lock, creating a loud noise that startles Norman awake. As the rest of the group watches fearfully, Norman effortlessly overpowers Money and tragically ends his life.

A Deadly Maze Unveiled

Rocky catches a glimpse of Norman examining his safe and seizes the opportunity to steal the cash concealed within. Meanwhile, Norman discovers two pairs of foreign shoes, indicating the presence of additional intruders. Determined to protect his belongings, Norman secures the house by closing off all possible escape routes, such as doors and windows. Rocky and Alex now find themselves trapped in a perilous maze, fully aware of the desperate struggle awaiting them.

The Sinister Secret Unveiled

Venturing into the basement, Rocky and Alex encounter a shocking sight: a restrained pregnant woman named Cindy Roberts. Their instinct to help Cindy escape triggers Norman’s violent response. Accidentally, Norman shoots and kills the innocent pregnant woman. Overwhelmed with grief for Cindy’s demise, Norman grows even more ferocious and plunges the house into utter darkness, leveling the playing field.

A Race Against Darkness

Despite the oppressive darkness, Alex and Rocky, fueled by adrenaline, manage to incapacitate Norman and escape the basement. Blocking the exit to hinder Norman’s pursuit, they make a desperate dash for freedom. However, their respite is short-lived as Norman’s tenacious Rottweiler reemerges, chasing Rocky back into the bedroom. Alex’s fall through a skylight provides an opportune moment for Norman to strike. Armed with garden shears, he impales Alex. Eventually, Rocky also falls into Norman’s clutches.

A Battle for Survival

Consigned to the basement, Rocky comes face to face with Norman’s twisted revelation. He discloses his disturbing motive for capturing her – to impregnate her as a substitute for his deceased daughter, seeking his version of justice. Faced with this horrifying reality, Rocky finds herself in a dire situation. However, just as all hope appears lost, Alex surprises Norman, incapacitating him with a sudden blow from a hammer.

The Final Showdown

Rocky and Alex make a final attempt to escape, rushing back upstairs. Unfortunately, Norman regains consciousness, relentlessly pursuing the two. Alex’s life is cut short when Norman shoots and kills him. Once again, Rocky finds herself ensnared by the blind man’s clutches, dragged back into the house. In a harrowing struggle, Rocky manages to gain some control over Norman through a clever distraction using the house alarm. With an improvised weapon, she repeatedly strikes him with a crowbar, causing him to tumble into the basement. The gunshot resounds, piercing Norman’s side.

Escaping with the Stolen Fortune

Overwhelmed with disbelief and determination, Rocky seizes the opportunity to finally take the money and flee Norman’s grim domain. At the airport, alongside her sister, preparing to board their flight to California, Rocky learns from a news report that Norman Nordstrom is still alive. The report also reveals that both burglars have met their demise. Rocky’s involvement in the burglary remains concealed, but as the lingering question persists, is she truly safe?
